Satan Can't Sing
The children created their characters in all their detail as always; & this is the play that came out of it, an unconventional, non-politically correct, love story.
The play is set in a rather hellish picnic area; though Hell itself is also visible to the audience.
We begin by witnessing the death by overdose of Lila Lakewood, who is then dragged to Hell by Satan.
Meanwhile Ogbella & Schnubb are enjoying Schnubb’s picnic area & keeping an eye on Schnubb’s grandchildren, Aggie with her cat Madeleine, and Tom.
Satan is obsessed by Ogbella & uses Hitler to persuade her to take the path to Hell. When this doesn’t work, Hitler has to return to re-enacting the more hellish moments of his life, & Satan chooses Lila Lakewood to give it a go.
Things go from bad to worse and Satan has to suffer his two worst tortures: the presence of love, and singing.
A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.
